NEW ORLEANS - Representing three different schools, a total of six male track and field atheltes from the WAC have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for academic success, earning All-Academic honors.
Utah Valley led the WAC with three athletes honored as seniors
Trac Norris and
Scott Moake and junior
Cole Eisenhour earned the academic award. UMKC junior
Bryce Miller was joined by sophomore teammate
Alex Yoxall to represent the 'Roos while UT Rio Grande Valley's
Javier Carretero was the lone Vaquero honored.
Including the Scholar Athletes of the Year, a total of 570 men from 161 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2015-16 track & field season.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the student athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
USTFCCCA All-Academic
