OREM, Utah - Utah Valley University women's soccer assistant coach Lexi Robison has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as one of the top young coaches in the country, earning a spot on this year's prestigious "30 Under 30" program.

The 30 Under 30 program recognizes the top young coaches in the nation, selecting 30 total coaches, 15 male and 15 female, from around the country. Collegiate, junior college and club coaches are all represented on the final list, making the recognition extremely difficult to attain. Launched in 2013, the program is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity for selected up-and-comers who have made soccer coaching their career of choice.

"This is an excellent opportunity for Lexi to participate in the NSCAA 30 Under 30 program," said Utah Valley head coach Brent Anderson. "With her current abilities and understanding of the game she is already a great contributor to our team. The training and experience she will gain by working with the NSCAA is going to add to her skill set and be a huge benefit for her and our program."

Robison is entering her second season as an assistant coach at UVU. She joined the staff last year after a stellar four-year playing career that culminated with WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2014. She also helped UVU to 13 wins in 2014 and anchored the Wolverine defense to a school-record nine shutouts. She earned first team all-WAC honors.

In her first season as an assistant coach at UVU, Robison helped the Wolverines to their most successful season in school history. The team won a school-record 14 matches, went unbeaten (9-0-1) at home, won the WAC Tournament championship and made its first-ever appearance at the NCAA Tournament.

Robison is also the director of coaching for the girls side of Utah FC. She also plays semi-pro soccer for the Real Salt Lake Women.

The Wolverines open the 2016 season at Northern Arizona on Aug. 19. UVU will then play at Arizona on Aug. 21 before returning home to open play at Clyde Field on Aug. 26 against Southern Utah.
