WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Announced

DENVER - UMKC's Kristen Moore has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 9 through Jan. 15.

Moore, a sophomore forward from Chicago (Homewood-Flossmoor HS), averaged 20.5 ppg and 7.0 rpg as the Roos went 1-1 in WAC games. Against Seattle U, she scored a career-high 22 points, adding seven rebounds and four assists in the loss. In a three-point win over Utah Valley, she scored 19 points with seven rebounds and was a perfect 7-for-7 on free throws.

Other nominees included: CSU Bakersfield's Tylinn Carter earned the double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to NM State … Chicago State's Kaylee Allen averaged 14.5 ppg and 10.0 rpg as the Cougars dropped a pair at home to Utah Valley and Seattle U … Grand Canyon's Brie Mobley put together a pair of double-digit scoring games as the Lopes split a pair at home to NM State and UTRGV … NM State's Moriah Mack led the Aggies to a pair of road wins, averaging 16.0 ppg and 4.5 rpg in victories at CSUB and GCU … UT Rio Grande Valley's Hildur Björg Kjartansdóttir scored 14 points and brought down eight rebounds in a loss at Grand Canyon … Utah Valley's Sam Lubcke averaged 15.5 ppg and 11.0 rpg as the Wolverines went 1-1 on a road trip to Chicago and Kansas City.
