WAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - Grand Canyon's Kelsi Klotter and Sasha-Gaye Marston have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 9-15.

Klotter, a redshirt senior from Eugene, Ore., placed first in the 3000-meter at the NAU Friday Night Duals. She finished with a time of 10:20.14 which ranks third in the WAC.

Marston, a senior from Clarendon, Jamaica, lead the Lopes in both shotput and weight throw at the NAU Friday Night Duals. She threw for 13.22 meters in the shotput, ranking third in the WAC. She also ranks second in the WAC for her 16.21 meter weight throw.

Other track nominees: Utah Valley's Lexi Shaw broke an indoor program record in the 500 meter running unattached at the BYU Cougar Indoor Invitational… UMKC's Hanna Miller ran the 1000 meter with a time of 3:00.48 at the Holiday Inn Invitational… NM State's Lashira Tremble ran the 60 meter with a time of 7.74 seconds at the Martin Luther Kind Jr. Invitational.

Other field nominees: UMKC's Christy Nell placed third in the pole vault with a height of 11'0.25” at the Holiday Inn Invitational… NM State's Keyarha Wilson placed second in the high jump (1.65m) at the Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational… Utah Valley's Chania Nagel had a personal record in the weight throw (15.82m) and threw for 11.83m in the shot put at the BYU Cougar Indoor Invitational.
