DENVER - CSU Bakersfield's Jazmyne Bartee has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 16 through Jan. 22.
Bartee, a junior post from Chandler, Ariz. (Chandler HS), was a perfect 10-for-10 from the field in an overtime win at Utah Valley. The transfer from UNLV finished the game with 23 points, adding 13 rebounds and a WAC season-high eight blocks as the ‘Runners outlasted the Wolverines in Orem. She becomes the third CSUB player in the Division I era to finish perfect from the floor and her eight blocks are second most for the ‘Runners in their Division I history.
Other nominees included: Chicago State's Jessica Cerda led the Cougars with 17 points in a loss at home to UT Rio Grande Valley … Grand Canyon's Brie Mobley scored a season-high 28 points in a loss at Seattle U … UMKC's Kristen Moore scored 17 points as the Roos fell to league-leading NM State … NM State's Gia Pack came off the bench to score 14 points and bring down nine rebounds as the Aggies remained undefeated in conference play … Seattle U's Alexis Montgomery scored 25 points and brought down 14 rebounds in an impressive 86-60 win over Grand Canyon … UT Rio Grande Valley's Mary Savoy recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds in a win at Chicago State … Utah Valley's Taylor Gordon scored 22 points and brought down 11 rebounds in an overtime loss to CSU Bakersfield.
