WAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - New Mexico State's Katara Nelson and Keyarha Wilson have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 16-22.

Nelson, a senior from Arlington, T.X., ran a 25.04 in the 200m at the Cherry and Silver Invitational. She finished 14th of 54 in the 200m and her time is the best in the WAC this season.

Wilson, a freshman from Las Cruces, N.M., was the top DI finisher in the high jump at the Cherry and Silver Invitational. She finished third of 14, clearing a height of 1.70m, the best in the WAC this season.

Other track nominees: Chicago State's Angelica Hampton set a CSU record in the 600m (1:44.89) finishing 11th at the Jack Tierney Classic.

Other field nominees: CSU Bakersfield's Julianne Finch finished third in the pole vault (11'5.75”) at the Lumberjack Team Challenge.
