DENVER - UNLV's Tom Paco-Pedroni and CSU Bakersfield's Brayden Greenwald have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 16-22.
Paco-Pedroni, a senior from Nice, France won three individual events in UNLV's dual match against Air Force and UCSB. He placed first in the 50 breast (26.20), 200 free (1:39.10), and 100 free (44.24). He also anchored the winning 400 relay (2:59.82), and his swims in the 100 and 200 free were the second and third highest ranked swims in the meet.
Greenwald, a junior from Henderson Nev., placed first in the 3 meter (349.72) and second in the 1 meter (306.50) against Fresno Pacific. He broke his own school record on the 3 meter and now holds the CSUB record in both boards. His score in the 3 meter ranks him second in the WAC.
Other swimmer nominees: CSUB's Lovre Soric placed first in the 100 back (51.68) and 200 back (1:51.53) and second in the 200 IM (1:54.97) against Fresno Pacific… Air Force's Zach Knoche won the 100 breast (55.33) and 200 breast (2:01.80) against UNLV… Seattle U's Tanner Schelling placed first in the 50 free (20.80) and 100 breast (55.41) against Simon Fraser.
Other diver nominees: UNLV's Robert Morgan placed first in the 1 meter (278.93) and third in the 3 meter (255.15) against Air Force and UCSB.
