DENVER - In recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week (Oct. 1-7), the WAC Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) has released its public service announcement on mental health.
"Student-athletes, like the rest of college students, are not immune to mental health problems," said Noah Knight, the WAC Division I SAAC Representative. "Similar to the way we take care of our bodies, we must take care of our minds. As we continue to compete relentlessly on and off the playing field, we reduce the stigma around mental health problems and show others that it is okay not to be okay."
