2017 WAC Women's Soccer Tournament Bracket
DENVER - The Western Athletic Conference has announced the bracket for the 2017 WAC Women's Soccer Tournament on Nov. 1, 3, and 5 at GCU Soccer Stadium in Phoenix.
Kansas City is the top seed after finishing first in the regular season standings with a perfect 7-0-0 record. The Roos are led by 12 goals and three assists from Lexie Howard and a combine 0.78 goals against average from Erin Roth and Anna Lillig.
Utah Valley is the second seed, finishing the regular season with a record of 5-2-0 in WAC play. Breanna DeWaal leads the Wolverines with nine goals and six assists this season.
The third seed went to UT Rio Grande Valley, who held off NM State on decision day, 3-2. The Vaqueros have seven goals and four assists from Andreya Barrera.
Preseason favorite Seattle U will be the fourth seed. The Redhawks have seven goals each from Jessie Ray and Leahi Manthei.
The fifth seed goes to NM State. The Aggies are led by 10 goals and five assists from Aileen Galicia and 11 goals from Devin Hart.
Grand Canyon is the sixth seed in their first year of eligibility for both the WAC and NCAA tournaments. The Lopes, who serve as the host of this year's tournament, earned a 3-0 victory over CSU Bakersfield on Friday night to clinch the tournament berth.
The tournament begins on Nov. 1 with the first of two first round matches at 4 p.m. local time. All matches will be shown live on the WAC Digital Network at www.wacsports.com/watch as well as Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Roku devices.
