KANSAS CITY'S HARRINGTON NAMED WAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kansas City sophomore outside hitter Alicia Harrington has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 2-8. This is her first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor.

The Cedar Falls, Iowa native led the Roos to a sweep of Chicago State last Friday, averaging 4.67 kills, 3.33 digs, 1.00 blocks, 0.67 service aces and a WAC-best 5.83 points. Harrington posted a match-high 14 kills on .300 hitting to go with 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. She also added three blocks and two service aces in the three-set victory. In WAC play, Harrington leads the league in points (4.29), ranks third in kills (3.65) and tied for ninth in digs (3.29).

Other nominees included: Haylee Roberts of CSU Bakersfield averaged 3.29 kills on .354 hitting and 0.71 blocks per set as the Roadrunners went 2-0 last week ... NM State's Kassandra Tohm averaged 5.12 kills on .384 hitting and 1.12 digs per set as the Aggies went 1-1 on the week ... Katarina Marinkovic of Seattle U averaged 2.75 kills, 2.25 digs and 0.75 blocks per set as the Redhawks went 1-1 on the week ... UT Rio Grande Valley's Ragni Steen Knudsen averaged 4.33 kills on .333 hitting and 1.89 digs per set as the Vaqueros went 1-1 on the week ... Madison Dennison of Utah Valley averaged 2.44 kills, 1.89 blocks and 1.22 digs per set as the Wolverines went 1-1 on the week..

WAC STAT LEADERS
NM State currently leads the WAC in opponent hitting percentage (.132), assists (12.80) and kills (13.55), while UT Rio Grande Valley leads the league in hitting percentage (.221) and Utah Valley is tops in blocks (2.78). Grand Canyon leads the league in service aces (1.45) and CSU Bakersfield is tops in digs (17.84).

Individually, Chicago State's Lauryn Dela Cruz leads the WAC in kills (4.39) and points (4.69), while Kansas City's Emma Dyer is tops in hitting percentage (.329). Utah Valley's Sierra Starley leads the WAC in assists (10.03), while teammate Madison Dennison is tops in blocks (1.64). CSU Bakersfield's Fabiana Andrade leads the league in service aces (0.36), while teammate Emily Lopes is tops in digs (5.95).

In WAC matches only, CSU Bakersfield leads the league in assists (13.67), kills (14.94), service aces (1.78) and digs (18.00), while NM State is tops in hitting percentage (.257) and opponent hitting percentage (.124). Utah Valley leads the WAC in blocks (3.00).

Individually in WAC matches, NM State's Sasha-Lee Thomas leads the league in hitting percentage (.393), while UT Rio Grande Valley's Ragni Steen Knudsen is tops in kills (3.90) and teammate Dubravka Vukoja is tops in assists (11.07). Seattle U's Anna Palmer is tied with Andrade for the lead in service aces (0.50), while Dennison leads the league in blocks (1.95). Lopes is tops in digs (6.50) and Kansas City's Alicia Harrington leads the WAC in points (4.29).

VAQUEROS' MITROVIC RECORDS 1,000TH KILL AT UTRGV
In the second set of her team's five-set loss at Seattle U on Oct. 7, UT Rio Grande Valley senior Bojana Mitrovic recorded her 1,000th kill in a UTRGV uniform to become the only active player in the WAC to surpass the 1,000-kill plateau. She now has 1,008 kills in her three seasons with the school. Mitrovic had 372 kills as a freshman at UT Brownsville.

CSU BAKERSFIELD OPENS WAC PLAY 5-0 FOR FIRST TIME EVER
CSU Bakersfield currently sits atop the WAC standings with a perfect 5-0 mark in league play to remain the only undefeated WAC team. It is the Roadrunners' best start since joining the conference in 2013.

NM STATE'S THOMAS POSTS 1,000TH CAREER POINT
In her team's sweep of Seattle U on Oct. 5, NM State senior middle blocker Sasha-Lee Thomas recorded her 1,000th career point to become the third active player in the WAC with 1,000 or more points. Thomas now has 1,022 career points.

THREE UTRGV BLOCKERS IN PROGRAM CAREER TOP 10
UT Rio Grande Valley currently has three players that rank in the top 10 in the program career record books for total blocks. Alexandra Ecker ranks eighth with 254, Bojana Mitrovic is ninth with 197 and Barbara Silva is 10th with 190.

UVU'S DENNISON RECORDS 500TH CAREER BLOCK
The nation's leader in blocks, Utah Valley senior middle blocker Madison Dennison became just the second player in Utah Valley history to join the 500-career block plateau when she tied a season-high with 10 blocks against UT Rio Grande Valley on Oct. 5. After recording seven more blocks in a five-set win over NM State on Oct. 7, Dennison now has a total of 507 career blocks and sits 72 back of program leader Lauren Bakker's 579.

CSUB'S LOPES POSTS SECOND-MOST PROGRAM DIGS IN MATCHES
CSU Bakersfield senior libero Emily Lopes finished with 25 digs in a sweep of Seattle U on Sept. 28. It was the second-most in CSUB history for a three-set match. On Sept. 30, she posted 35 digs in a five-set win over Utah Valley. That was the second-most in a five-set match in Roadrunner history.

NM STATE'S SIERRA MOVING UP DIGS CHART
NM State senior libero Ariadnne Sierra currently ranks sixth all-time in career digs at NM State with 1,182. The WAC's active career digs leader, she only needs 22 digs to move into fifth place and is 99 shy of fourth place.

CSUB'S HAYNES MOVING UP CAREER BLOCKS CHARTS
CSU Bakersfield senior middle blocker Sydney Haynes has 232 block assists on her career, good for sixth place all-time and 40 shy of fifth. She also has 253 total blocks on her career, good for seventh all-time at CSUB and nine shy of sixth place.
