DENVER - Idaho's Emma Schlyter and NM State's MacKinna Hauff have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Nov. 7-Nov. 13.
Schlyter, a freshman from Thunder Bay, Ontario, led Idaho to a 181.5-118.5 win against NM State. She scored a meet-high 21 individual points and helped the Vandals to a 400 free relay win with a time of 3:35.26. Schlyter picked up wins in the 200 free (1:53.29) and 500 free (5:12.34) and added a third-place finish in the 100 free (53.97). Her swim in the 200 free was ranked as the best swim of the meet and her time in the 100 free was a season best for her.
Hauff, a junior from Edmonton, Canada, broke a school record for the three-meter event with a score of 312.20. She placed second in the three-meter event but placed first in the one-meter board. Hauff scored a 305.15 in the one-meter board.
Other swimmer nominees: NM State's Aux Knagg placed first in the 100 individual medley (2:10.29), second in the 200 back (2:04.98) and third in the 100 back (58.81)… Seattle U's Madi Lydig placed first in the 1000 free (10:48.82) and 500 free (5:16.86) to help her team defeat Oregon State.
Other diver nominee: Idaho's Maren Seljevold placed first in the three-meter event with a score of 321.95 and third in the one-meter board with a score of 291.25 both being career highs.
