DENVER -Utah Valley's JT Timmons and NM State's Pun Chanachai have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 1 through Feb. 7.

Timmons, a senior from Holladay, Utah (Olympus HS), led the Wolverines to the team title at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah. Timmons shot a two-round score of 6-under-par 138 to finish in a tie for third place among 77 golfers at the tournament. After shooting an even-par 72 in round one, Timmons shot the lowest second round score of the tournament with an impressive 6-under-par 66. UVU finished ahead of 11 other schools for the team title, which the Wolverines also claimed last season.

Chanachai, a freshman from Bangkok, Thailand (The Demonstration School of Ramkhamhaeng), helped lead the Aggies to a sixth-place finish at the Peg Barnard Invitational, hosted by Stanford. After shooting a 5-over-par 76 in the opening round, she finished with an even-par 71 to move into 11th place for her third top-25 finish in four events this season. As a team, the Aggies were just one stroke behind the B-team from top-ranked Stanford.

Other men's nominees: None.

Other women's nominees: CSU Bakersfield's Tori Peers came within a stroke of tying the CSUB record for a single-round score, carding a 74 in the final round of the Battle at the Rock … Grand Canyon's Courtney Vogel shot an 8-over-par 224 in her first collegiate tournament to lead the Lopes to a fourth place finish at the Battle at the Rock, hosted by UC Riverside.
