WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Announced

DENVER - Grand Canyon's Brie Mobley has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 13 through Feb. 19.

Mobley, a junior guard from Winter Haven, Fla. (Winter Haven HS), was instrumental in a pair of GCU wins. On Thursday, she scored 31 points with nine rebounds as the Lopes handed Seattle U just their second WAC loss of the season. She followed that up with 10 points and seven rebounds in a 60-42 win over Utah Valley on Saturday afternoon. She finished the week shooting 15-for-25 from the field and a perfect 11-for-11 on free throws.

Other nominees included: CSU Bakersfield's Jazmyne Bartee averaged 10.5 rpg and 5.5 bpg in a home split with Utah Valley and Seattle U … Chicago State's Kaylee Allen scored a team-high 15 points in a loss at UMKC … UMKC's Kristen Moore had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Chicago State … NM State's Brooke Salas recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a win over UTRGV … Seattle U's Alexis Montgomery averaged 18.5 ppg and 7.0 rpg as the Redhawks split a pair on the road … UT Rio Grande Valley's Shawnte' Goff scored 18 points to lead the Vaqueros in a loss at league-leading NM State.
