WAC Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday Recap

HOUSTON - A WAC record and an NCAA automatic qualifying time were set on Thursday night. Grand Canyon's Mark Nikolaev broke the record set by GCU's Iegor Lytvenok two years ago with a time of 1:44.15 in the 200 individual medley. Later in the evening, UNLV won the 200 freestyle relay for the fourth straight year with an NCAA "A" cut time of 1:17.55.

The Northern Arizona women continue to lead the championships after two days with 284 points while Wyoming expanded on its day one lead over Air Force with 285 points.

Action continues Friday at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston with the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, men's platform diving and the 400 medley relays. Prelims begin at 10:30 a.m. and the finals start at 6:00 p.m.
