WAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - UMKC's Chadayne Walker and Grand Canyon's Scott Marshall have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 30- Feb. 5.

Walker, a sophomore from Portmore, Jamaica, won the 60m at the Herm Wilson Invitational. He finished with a time of 6.85 seconds, which ranks second in the WAC. He also placed fourth in the 200m with a time of 22.58, ranking him fifth in the WAC.

Marshall, a redshirt junior from Tempe, Ariz., placed second in the pole vault at the Air Force Academy Team Challenge with a PR mark of 5.40m. His mark ranks first in the WAC by over a foot, and set a GCU record.

Other track nominees: Grand Canyon's Pierre-Louis Ricou placed fifth in the 60m hurdles (8.25 seconds) at the Air Force Team Challenge, ranking second in the WAC.

Other field nominees: UMKC's Alex Gutierrez placed second in the high jump (6' 6.25”) at the Herm Wilson Invitational.
