DENVER - Idaho's Clothilde Peseux and Janelle Lucas have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 30- Feb. 5.
Peseux, a sophomore from Besancon, France, won two individual events as Idaho defeated Grand Canyon. She placed first in the 100 breast (1:03.90) and 200 IM (2:07.89). She also earned second place in the 200 breast (2:17.63). Both breaststroke swims rank in the top 10 in the WAC. Her 100 breast was the second highest ranked swim in the meet with 746 points, and her 200 breast was the fifth highest.
Lucas, a sophomore from Mission Viejo, Calif., won the 3 meter with a score if 297.90. Her score beat the second place competitor by 20 points. She also placed third in the 1 meter with a score of 244.42.
Other swimmer nominees: Grand Canyon's Jovanna Koens won the 100 free (50.96) and placed second in the 200 free (1:52.65) against Idaho.
