LAS VEGAS - In the first quadruple overtime game in WAC Tournament history, top-seeded CSU Bakersfield outlasted No. 4-seed Utah Valley 81-80 to advance to the championship game tomorrow.
The game had 18 lead changes and 22 ties. Numerous WAC Tournament records were broken, including the 68 rebounds by Utah Valley, the 28 turnovers caused by CSU Bakersfield, and the 32 free throws made and 45 free throws attempted by the Roadrunners.
Neither team shot the ball well, as Utah Valley connected on 32 percent from the field, while CSUB shot 30 percent. The Wolverines out-rebounded the 'Runners 68-51.
CSUB's Jaylin Airington led all players with 22 points, while Dedrick Basile added 18, Matt Smith had 14 and Shon Briggs chipped in 13. Moataz Aly grabbed a team-high 11 boards.
UVU was led by Jared Stutzman and Ivory Young with 15 points apiece. Jordan Poydras added 13 points, while Isaac Neilson pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds and Andrew Bastien grabbed 12.
