DENVER -
Utah Valley's Brittney Vansway and Seattle U's Alyssa Reuble have been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for March 6-12. This is the first-ever honor for Vansway and the first honor of the season and second of her career for Reuble.

Vansway, a senior third baseman from Irvine, Calif., hit .615 with seven extra-base hits and 10 RBIs last week. She hit four home runs and three doubles with two walks and seven runs scored in leading the Wolverines to the title at the Nevada Classic. Vansway recorded an impressive 1.769 slugging percentage and a .588 on-base clip. In an 8-7 come-from-behind victory over Saint Mary's, the three-time All-WAC performer posted a perfect 3-for-3 outing with two homers, a double and three RBIs. She also put up a 3-for-4 outing in an 11-7 victory against the host Wolf Pack with a home run, two doubles and five runs batted in.

Reuble, a junior right-hander from Lynwood, Wash., threw a perfect game in Seattle U's 8-0 five-inning win over South Dakota on March 10. She needed just 41 pitches to blank the Coyotes. Reuble's gem was the first perfect game in Division I this season and the first by a WAC pitcher since the 2010 season. It also marks just the third perfect game in program history.
