DENVER -
Utah Valley's Lyndsay Steverson and CSU Bakersfield's Summer Evans have been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for March 13-19. This is the first-ever honor for both.

Steverson, a freshman second baseman from Mesa, Ariz., hit .538 with five extra-base hits, six runs scored and six RBIs last week. She posted a 1.385 slugging percentage and .571 on-base percentage as she tallied a trio of home runs on the week to bring her season total to a WAC-best eight on the season. All eight of her round trippers have come in the Wolverines' last eight games and she has also tallied three two-home run games during that stretch. Steverson's third two-homer game came in a 14-3 run-rule victory over Maine last Tuesday, as she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two home runs, two runs scored and four RBIs. The Wolverine second baseman also added a pair of 2-for-3 outings in a doubleheader against Wagner on Wednesday, which gave her a total of three multi-hit games on the week.

Evans, a junior left-hander from Escondido, Calif., went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in one appearance last week. She pitched her most impressive performance of the year against San Diego last Saturday, earning her fifth complete game and first shutout of the season in an 8-0 victory over the Toreros. Evans scattered seven hits over seven innings and allowed only one walk to USD while striking out two in the win. Evans has now been the pitcher of record for all of CSUB's four wins this season.
