DENVER -
Seattle U's Paige Bouska and Utah Valley's Lauren Frailey have been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for March 20-26. This is the first-ever honor for both.

Bouska, a senior outfielder from Keizer, Ore., hit .500 with a double, two triples, four runs scored and four RBIs last week. She posted a .750 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage. Bouska had a hit in all five games on the week with three multi-hit games. She broke the Seattle U career hits record, notching her 209th hit as a Redhawk in Sunday's 5-3 win over Santa Clara. Bouska's two-run triple in the sixth inning, which set the record, gave Seattle U a 4-3 lead. She now leads the WAC in hits (48) and triples (5), ranks second in total bases (61), and third in batting average (.403) and runs scored (23).

Frailey, a junior right-hander from Tooele, Utah, 1-0 with a 0.78 ERA and five strikeouts in 9.0 innings of work last week. In her lone start, she pitched her third complete-game outing of the year in a 6-2 victory at Idaho State. The transfer from Salt Lake Community College gave up just one earned run while scattering eight hits and striking out a season-high five batters. Later that day, Frailey came on to pitch two more scoreless innings of relief against the Bengals, as she pitched a total of seven scoreless frames on the day. She now leads UVU with a 5-3 record and a 2.61 ERA on the year.

Other Hitter of the Week nominees included: Chris Hipa of CSU Bakersfield hit .333 with a double, a triple, two home runs and eight RBIs on the week ... UMKC's Kendra Leach hit .600 with one double, one home run and three RBIs ... Fahren Glackin of NM State hit .667 with one double and six RBIs last week ... Utah Valley's Brittney Vansway hit .400 with one homer and three RBIs on the week.
