LAS CRUCES, N.M. -
The 2017 All-WAC men's tennis teams have been named, following a vote of the WAC's six head coaches. NM State's Christofer Goncalves headlines the awards, earning WAC Player of the Year honors, while Grand Canyon's Lorenzo Fucile was named WAC Freshman of the Year and NM State's Carlos Vargas earned WAC Coach of the Year honors.

Goncalves was named WAC Player of the Year after going 5-0 at No. 1 singles in WAC play, winning all of his matches in straight sets. He also went 4-1 at No. 1 doubles in league play with partner Luis Flores. He was named WAC Player of the Month for both October and November and was named WAC Player of the Week three times in the spring.

Fucile earns WAC Freshman of the Year honors after going 4-0 at Nos. 3 and 4 singles in WAC matches. He also went undefeated in WAC play with partner Valentin Lang at No. 3 doubles. He was named WAC Player of the Week on March 21.
