2017 WAC Men's Golf Championship - Day Three

MESA, Ariz. - Led by a five-under-66 from freshman Zack Overstreet, Seattle U held on to win the 2017 WAC Men's Golf Championship on Sunday afternoon at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz. Grand Canyon's Vinnie Murphy earned individual medalist honors with a 3-under-par 210.

Seattle U put together their best score of the championship to clinch the title with a 2-under-par 282 to finish with a 15-over-par 867. UMKC put together a strong run on the final day, using a 5-under-par 278 to finish four strokes back at 871. NM State took third with an 879, followed by Utah Valley (883), UT Rio Grande Valley (889), CSU Bakersfield (940) and Chicago State (985).

On the individual leaderboard, Murphy shot a 3-under-par 68 to finish two strokes ahead of Seattle U's Kyle Cornett, who took second with a 1-under-par 212. Overstreet tied for the tournament-low round with UMKC's McCain Schellhardt with a third-round 66 to finish in third with an even-par 213.
