DENVER - A pair of men's tennis players and a pair of women's swimmers represent the Western Athletic Conference on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District At-Large Teams.
NM State men's tennis players
Enrique Asmar and
Stijn de Haan both earned first team honors in District 7. Asmar, a sophomore from Barranquilla, Colombia, holds a 3.96 grade-point average as a civil engineering major while de Gaan, a sophomore from Veldhoven, Netherlands, is an aerospace engineering major with a perfect 4.00 GPA.
North Dakota swimmer
Steph Frey was honored is District 6, earning first team honors after posting a 4.00 GPA as a communication sciences and disorders major.
Seattle U's
Sidney Pinger was the final WAC student-athlete honored as she earned second team honors in District 8. The senior from Tualatin, Ore. holds a 3.95 grade-point average as a marketing major.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his or her current institution. In addition, nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed.
