LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Top-seeded NM State advanced to the championship game of the WAC Tournament with a 15-3 win over No. 4-seed UMKC in the final game of day two Friday. The Aggies face No. 3 Seattle U at 1 p.m. for the tournament title.

After both teams scored runs in the first, NM State took a 3-1 lead in the third when Victotia Castro hit a two-run homer. WAC Player of the Year Kelsey Horton added two more runs on her 16th home run of the year in the fourth.

The Aggies took a 7-3 lead in the top of the sixth on Jeanelle Medina and Castro singles and added put the game out of reach with eight runs in the seventh to go up 15-3.

Castro led NM State at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs, while Horton and Fahren Glackin drove in three runs each.

The Aggies' Kayla Green earned the win in the circle, improving to 12-14 on the season, while UMKC's Sara Miller suffered the loss. NM State reliever Samaria Diaz threw three innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven.
