MESA, Ariz. - Using momentum from an earlier win over Seattle U, the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners used a six-run first inning to power past the NM State Aggies, 11-7, in an elimination game at the 2017 WAC Baseball Tournament at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Ariz.

The 'Runners chased Aggie starter Marcel Renteria after just two outs after scoring six runs to take the early lead. The Aggies chipped away at the lead and pulled within three runs midway through the fourth but the 'Runners had another big inning in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on five hits to go ahead 11-3.

NM State added a pair of runs in both the sixth and the ninth but it wasn't enough to prevent elimination, falling 11-7. Andrew Hanson earned the win for CSUB, allowing seven runs on 13 hits with five strikeouts over 8.1 innings. Renteria took the loss for NM State.

CSU Bakersfield will take on either Northern Colorado or Sacramento State on Saturday afternoon in an elimination game set to begin at 3 p.m.
