NORMAN, Okla. - The Golf Coaches Association of American (GCCA) announced the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars for 2016-17 and nine players from around the WAC were honored.
The 2017 WAC champion Seattle U Redhawks led the way with four players honored as Kyle Cornett, Joe Harvie, Ross Kukula and Patrick Sato all were recognized. Kansas City had two players honored as Hubert Tisserand and Thibault Vieilledent represented the Roos. Utah Valley also had two players honored with Blair Bursey and Ariel Elftman-Hanson earning recognition. UT Rio Grande Valley's Casto Gomez-Ruiz rounded out the WAC players honored.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
