Aries Washington (Kansas City, Mo.) has been selected to participate in the “So You Want to be a Coach†program, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced Monday. The three-day workshop, put on in partnership with the Alliance of Women's Coaches, is slated for Mar. 28-30 to convene with the WBCA Convention and the NCAA Final Four in Columbus, Ohio.
“The ‘So' program is an awesome opportunity that will expose Aries to all the ins and outs of what it takes to be successful in this profession,†said head coach
Jacie Hoyt. “Aries' passion and commitment to this game are unmatched, and there's no doubt to me that she will thrive and grow from the experience she will receive at the Final Four. It is an honor to be accepted and we are very proud of her.â€
Participants are provided with professional development and career networking opportunities within the program. Additionally, they will gain insight into the administrative side of coaching, recruiting, hiring, skill development, and balancing work and life. Washington will be the lone representative from the Western Athletic Conference.
