WAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – Northern Colorado's Petra Kis and NM State's Mackinna Hauff have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Oct. 8-15.

Kis, a sophomore from Budapest, Hungary, won three individual events and helped a relay to first against NM State. Kis won the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 59.95 and 2:08.64. She also finished best in the 400-individual medley (4:37.85) and helped their 400 relay to a first place finish in 3:55.33. The Bears won 13 of the 16 events for their third straight meet win.

Hauff, a senior from Edmonton, Canada, swept the 1-meter and 3-meter dive against Northern Colorado. She won the 1-meter with 254.93 points. In the 3-meter, Hauff scored 278.77 points separating her by more than 50 points from the runner-up. Hauff also snagged a second and third place finish against Wyoming.
 
Other swimmer nominees: California Baptist's Rebeca Oviedo won the 200 and 500 freestyle races and competed in the fourth-place 400 freestyle relay… Grand Canyon's Roaia Mashaly finished fourth in the 200 freestyle and 50 freestyle while also grabbing fifth in the 100 freestyle... Allison Plamondon of Seattle U won two individual races and won in the 200 freestyle relay.
 
Other diver nominees:
 Grand Canyon's Menna El-Midany earned second in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives against Pac-12 competition... Nikki Imanaka of Idaho finished second in both dives against Boise State.
