WAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – Grand Canyon's Marina McInelly and California Baptist's Emily Dunkerson have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Oct. 15-22.

McInelly, a sophomore from Gilbert, Ariz., finished first in all four individual events against Seattle U and Loyola Marymount. She also helped the 400-medley relay to a first-place finish. McInelly posted a time of 58.36 in the 100 butterfly and 2:10.20 in the 200-individual medley. She also won the 100 breaststroke (1:04.44) and the 200 breaststroke (2:24.29). She currently holds the second-best time in the WAC in the 100 breaststroke.

Dunkerson, a sophomore from Riverside, Calif., had two top-three finishes at the Lancer Dive Invite. She won the 1-meter with a score of 250.80. In the 3-meter she tallied a score of 260.85 for a third-place finish. Dunkerson defeated opponents from Cal Poly and UNLV.

Other swimmer nominee: California Baptist's Emily Longfellow had three top-three finishes including first in the 400 individual medley (4:33.23)… Jayssie Haynes of CSU Bakersfield recorded two top-three individual finishes and two third-place relay finishes… Idaho's Natalie Crocker earned her first career victory with a win in the 50 free (24.04) and earned third in the 100 free (53.08)…Hanna McGowan of NM State won the 200 breaststroke and led the 400-medley relay to first… Seattle U's Bryn Lasher had four top-three finishes including two individual and two in relays.
 
Other diver nominee:
 Idaho's Heather Carbon earned her first career victory in the 1-meter with a score of 263.70… Mackinna Hauff of NM State snagged first with 282.60 points which qualifies her for NCAA Diving Zones.
