Grand Canyon Earns Easton/NFCA Team Academic Award, 39 WAC Players Named NFCA Scholar-Athletes
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Grand Canyon led all Division I softball teams with a 3.790 team grade-point average in the Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 10 Academic Team rankings for the 2017-18 school year. Utah Valley (3.50) and NM State (3.136) were also honored as NFCA Academic Teams.
Individually, the WAC had 39 Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athletes among the 1,311 NCAA Division I honorees. Grand Canyon led the way with 21, while Utah Valley had 14, Seattle U U had five and NM State had four.
