WAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced
DENVER – NM State's Reagan Nentwich and MacKinna Hauff have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Dec. 11-17.
Nentwich, a junior from San Antonio, won three individual events and two relays at the Lancer Swim/Dive Invitational. She finished best in the 50 butterfly in a time of 24.71 and in the 100 butterfly touching at 55.25. Nentwich also took first in the 100 backstroke recording a 56.46. She helped both the 200 and 400 medley relays to first-place finishes. NM State was the top finisher out of six competitors.
Hauff, a senior from Edmonton, Canada, swept both diving events in two days of competition at the Lancer Swim/Dive Invitational. She won the 1-meter dive with 254.75 points, more than a 20-point deficit between second place. She followed by winning the 3-meter dive with an even greater margin earning 249.90 points. On day two of competition, Hauff won the 3-meter with 295.35 points and the 1-meter with 284.60. This marks Hauff's second time receiving WAC Athlete of the Week honors this season.
Other swimmer nominees: California Baptist's Isabella Rhodes won five events, scoring the most points for the Lancers, and guiding CBU to a second-place team finish.
Other diver nominees: Savannah Uhlir of California Baptist posted four top-six finishes with her best coming in the 3-meter dive, earning second with 206.50 points.
