DENVER -
NM State senior forward Jemerrio Jones has been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 5-11. This is his second WAC Player of the Week honor of the season and of his career.

The Memphis, Tenn. native averaged 20.0 rebounds, 16.5 points, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a pair of wins last week to keep the Aggies undefeated in WAC play. Jones opened the week with 20 rebounds, six points, three assists and two steals in a 26-point win over CSU Bakersfield. He then willed the Aggies to a thrilling 74-70 victory over Grand Canyon in front of a sellout crowd at the Pan American Center by recording his 15th double-double of the season and his third-straight 20-rebound game, finishing with game highs of 27 points and 20 rebounds. Jones is just the eighth player since the 2010-11 season to pull down 20 or more rebounds three or more times in a season. It is also the first time an Aggie has pulled down 20-plus rebounds in three-consecutive games and the first Aggie to tally 20 rebounds three times in a single-season since Sam Lacey did so during the 1968-69 season. Jones ranks second nationally in total rebounds (317) and rebounds per game (12.7) and 10th in double-doubles (15).
