DENVER - Utah Valley's Aaron Yeates and Grand Canyon's Deanna Salvatori have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 7 through Feb. 13.

Yeates, a freshman from Orem, Utah (Timpanagos HS), claimed individual medalist honors at the Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah. The rookie fired identical rounds of 4-under-par 68 to finish 8-under-par in the two day tournament to finish ahead of 53 other golfers. The low scores also helped the Wolverines win the tournament for the third straight season with an 11-under-par 565. Yeates ranks fourth in the WAC in scoring average at 72.00 through seven rounds played.

Salvatori, a senior from Salem, Ore. (Sprague HS), never shot a round above par to take fifth at the Battle at the Rock in Riverside, Calif. She challenged for medalist honors before settling into fifth place with a 2-under-par 214 in the 72-hole tournament. She ranks third in the WAC this season in scoring average at 72.67 through a WAC-high 18 rounds.

Other men's nominees: Seattle U's Zack Overstreet used an opening-round 7-under-par 65 to take sixth with an even-par 216 at The Farms Invitational, hosted by University of San Diego.

Other women's nominees: CSU Bakersfield's Ariel Lee helped the Runners to their best tournament in school history, finishing sixth with a school-record 892 … Seattle U's Kimberlee Tottori shot a 9-over-par 225 to tie for 15th at The Gold Rush, hosted by Long Beach State … UT Rio Grande Valley's Emma Mesta tied for 40th at the Texas State Invitational with an 18-over-par 231.
