SEATTLE U'S CATHCART, NM STATE'S GREEN NAMED WAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Seattle U's
Madison Cathcart and NM State's
Kayla Green have been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 12-18. This is the first-ever honor for Cathcart and the second honor of the season and fifth of her career for Green.
Cathcart, a sophomore first baseman from Longview, Wash., posted a .467 batting average in five games at the Marucci Desert Classic in Las Vegas last weekend. The sophomore accounted for four of her team's nine extra base hits, as she blasted two home runs and hit two doubles. Cathcart also walked twice and drove in five runs. She posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .529 on-base percentage and had three multi-hit games over the five games.
Green, a junior right-hander from Tucson, Ariz., went 1-1 with a 1.17 ERA over 12.0 innings pitched last week. In a loss to top-ranked Oklahoma, Green pitched a complete game, allowing just two runs on seven hits while striking out a Sooner batter. Against Boston U, she pitched five innings and allowed seven hits and no earned runs.

Rachel Rodriguez hit .455 with a pair of doubles on the week, including two hits against Oklahoma's Paige Parker, arguably one of the top two pitchers in the country.

Carley Nance went 2-2 with a 2.29 ERA, a save and 11 strikeouts last week.

Kelsey Goodwin is currently tied for the lead nationally with three sacrifice flies in 10 games played this season. She is tied with seven other players.
SEATTLE U'S LARKINS, NANCE TEAM UP FOR WIN, SAVE AGAINST HAWAII
Seattle U's
Andie Larkins and
Carley Nance teamed up for a stellar pitching effort in a 4-2 win over Hawai‘i on Feb. 16. Larkins earned the win after allowing one earned run on four hits, while Nance got the save with three perfect innings to preserve SU's lead.
NM STATE'S RODRIGUEZ HAS TWO OF SEVEN HITS ALL SEASON OFF OU'S PARKER
NM State senior
Rachel Rodriguez had the team's only hits in a 2-1 loss to then-No. 1 Oklahoma on Feb. 17. Rodriguez hit a double and a single off Oklahoma ace Paige Parker. Parker has given up just seven hits over five games this entire season.
SEATTLE U GETS WIN IN ONE-HITTER
The Redhawks tallied just one hit, a double by
Madison Cathcart, but defeated Nevada, 2-1 on Feb. 17.
