INDIANAPOLIS
- The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the participants that will compete in the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Representing the WAC and Grand Canyon is Scott Marshall, a redshirt senior from Tempe, Ariz., in the pole vault event. He is the first Grand Canyon athlete to ever compete in any NCAA Division I Championship. At the WAC Indoor Track and Field Championship, Marshall beat his previous school record with a winning vault of 5.51 meters. He attempted to break the WAC Championship record which was set in 2013 at 5.53 meters with the bar being set at 5.54 but ultimately could not clear it. Marshall also placed first in the Heptathlon to help bring home the team title for Grand Canyon's third consecutive year and the individual award of Outstanding Field Performer.

The championships will be held March 9 and 10 in College Station, Texas, and hosted by Texas A&M. ESPN3 will stream the meet live starting at 6:30 p.m. ET March 9 and starting at 5 p.m. ET March 10.
