DENVER- The Western Athletic Conference announces its women's tennis pre-conference coaches polls, as voted on by the six head coaches in the league. Grand Canyon was selected as the pre-season favorite.
With a narrow margin, Grand Canyon was selected as the favorite to finish first in the league with three first-place votes to round out the point total to 23. By a single point, Kansas City was selected to finish second with two first-place votes bringing the total to 22 points. Predicted to tie for third was NM State collecting the final first-place vote and UT Rio Grande Valley as they both received 13 points. Predicted to finish fifth and sixth were Seattle U with 11 points and Chicago State with eight.
The 2018 Western Athletic Conference Tennis championships will be hosted by Grand Canyon and will take place at the Mesa Tennis Center in Mesa, Ariz., April 27-29.
