DENVER - Kansas City's McCain Schellhardt and Grand Canyon's Alexis Linam have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for the week of April 4 through April 10.

Schellhardt, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla. (Edmond Memorial HS), posted a career-best 7-under-par 209 to tie for second at the Missouri Tiger Invitational in Columbia, Mo. After shooting a 2-under-par 70 in the opening round and an even-par 72 in the middle round, the sophomore moved up eight spots on the final day with a 5-under-par 67 to earn the second-place finish. As a team, the Roos took fifth with a 9-over-par 873.

Linam, a freshman from Phoenix (Liberty HS), led the Lopes to their first tournament victory of the season at the Bobcat Spring Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz. She shot an even-par 72 in round one and then went 3-under-par with a 69 in round two to hold the lead after day one but a 1-over-par 73 on the final day put the first-year player into a tie for second with a 2-under-par 214. She finished just one stroke back of individual medalist Tara Ginigan of Portland State as GCU won the tournament by seven strokes with a 7-over-par 871.

Other men's nominees: Seattle U's Joe Harvie shot a season-low 6-under-par 210 at the Missouri Tiger Invitational to finish in a tie for fifth among 102 golfers … Utah Valley's Blair Bursey took 19th at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, carding a 2-under-par 214.

Other women's nominees: CSU Bakersfield's Ariel Lee used an even-par 72 in the opening round to set the pace at the Bobcat Spring Invitational, finishing the tournament tied for 15th overall with an 8-over-par 224.
