DENVER - NM State was selected as the favorite to win the 2018 Western Athletic Conference women's golf title in a vote of the league's head coaches, who could not vote for their own team.
The Aggies, winners of the last four WAC titles, received six of eight first-place votes for 48 points. Grand Canyon picked up the remaining two first-place votes and second place with 41 points. Seattle U edged out Utah Valley by a point for third place with 34 points. Kansas City was picked fifth with 27 points, followed by UT Rio Grande Valley (19), CSU Bakersfield (15) and Chicago State (7).

Pun Chanachai will be looking to defend the individual title after leading the WAC in stroke average during the regular season at 73.0 strokes per round. Grand Canyon's
Deanna Salvatori is also expected to be among the contenders after averaging 73.1 strokes per round.
The 2018 WAC Women's Golf Championship tees off April 16 at The Legacy Golf Club in Phoenix.
