DENVER - Three WAC baseball players have been honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for their success both on the field and in the classroom, being named Google Cloud Academic All-District.
NM State senior outfielder David Bellamy earns honors after posting a 3.91 grade-point average as a marketing major. He is also hitting .307 this year for the second-place Aggies, who travel to take on Gonzaga this weekend in non-conference play.
Seattle U had two honored as senior infielders Curtis Perrin and Sean Sutton each earned honors. Perrin, a sport and exercise science major, holds a 3.95 GPA while Sutton, a business administration and economics major, holds a 3.78 GPA. They are also major contributers to the Redhawks on the field as well with Sutton hitting .340 with five home runs in 46 games and Perrin hitting .355 with three home runs in 45 games played.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his current institution. In addition, nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed.
