NM STATE TO FACE NO. 4 STANFORD IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

The 2018 WAC Tournament Champion NM State men's tennis team will take on No. 4 seed Stanford in the NCAA Tournament in Stanford, Calif.

The Aggies (16-8) are returning to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the past four years as the WAC representatives. They swept Kansas City in the WAC Tournament title match this past Sunday.

NM State takes on Stanford, after they fell to Southern California in the PAC 12 semifinals, 4-0.

The winner of each first and second round site advances to the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C. where the 16 teams will compete for the national championship May 17-22. Wake Forest University will host the event.

KANSAS CITY TO FACE NO. 8 OKLAHOMA STATE IN NCAA TOURNAMENT
The 2018 WAC Tournament Champion Kansas City women's tennis team will take on No. 8-seed Oklahoma State in the NCAA Tournament in Stillwater, Okla.

The ‘Roos (15-9) are headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row as the WAC representatives. They swept UT Rio Grande Valley in the WAC Tournament title match this past Sunday to earn the automatic bid.

Kansas City takes on Oklahoma State (19-4), after they lost in the Big 12 semifinals to Texas Tech, 4-1.

WAC ANNOUNCES MEN'S TENNIS ALL-TOURNAMENT HONOREES
The WAC announced the 2018 Men's Tennis All-Tournament honorees, as voted on by the coaches, following last week's WAC Tournament in Mesa, Ariz.

The WAC announced the 2018 Women's Tennis All-Tournament honorees, as voted on by the coaches, following last week's WAC Tournament in Mesa, Ariz.

WAC MEN'S TENNIS POSTSEASON HONORS ANNOUNCED
The 2018 All-WAC men's tennis teams have been named, following a vote of the WAC's six head coaches. NM State's Christofer Goncalves headlines the awards, earning WAC Player of the Year honors, while Kansas City's Diego Giraldo was named WAC Freshman of the Year and Kansas City's Kendell Hale earned WAC Coach of the Year honors.

Goncalves was named WAC Player of the Year after going 5-0 for the second year as NM State's No. 1 singles player in WAC play. He has not lost in the regular season conference play since his freshman campaign while he went 4-1 and earned Freshman of the Year honors back in 2015. This marks the second consecutive year Goncalves has been recognized as Player of the Year.

Giraldo earned WAC Freshman of the Year honors after going 4-1 at the No. 3 singles position in WAC matches. He also paired up with teammate Tom Kruse in doubles play at No. 2 to represent the ‘Roos. The duo went 5-0 in conference play and look to continue it in the tournament.

Hale earned WAC Coach of the Year for the first time on the men's side after leading Kansas City to a perfect 5-0 conference play record. He looks to help his team head back to the NCAA Tournament after participating last year. He was recognized as WAC Coach of the Year last year for women's tennis.

Kansas City's Aliona Ladutska headlines the awards, earning WAC Player of the Year honors, while Seattle U's Kyra Jung was named WAC Freshman of the Year and UT Rio Grande Valley's Sonia Hahn earned WAC Coach of the Year honors.

Ladutska was named WAC Player of the Year after going 5-0 in conference play at the No. 1 singles position. She was named Player of the Month in October and Player of the Week four times this season as a singles player. Ladutska partnered with teammate Grace Ball as the No. 2 doubles team for Kansas City and went 4-1 in WAC play.
Jung earned WAC Freshman of the Year honors after going 2-3 in the third position for Seattle U as a singles player in WAC play. She also paired up with teammate Hannah Gianan as the No. 2 doubles team for the Redhawks as they went 2-3 on the season.

Hahn earned WAC Coach of the Year for the first time after leading UT Rio Grande Valley to a perfect 5-0 conference play record. This year marks the first for the Vaqueros to claim the regular season title and a bye in the first round of the tournament.
