GCU’s Finnegan Named Google Cloud Academic All-District
DENVER- Grand Canyon's Kayla Finnegan has been voted to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Track/Cross Country team. She will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration. That team will be announced in June.
Finnegan, a redshirt senior from Mooreland, Okla., currently holds a 4.00 grade-point average as an Accounting major. She won the women's long jump event with a mark of 6.16 at the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships and placed fourth in the triple jump with 12.39 meters being her best attempt. In the WAC Indoor Championship, Finnegan took home the gold for triple jump with a 12.18 mark and silver in long jump with a mark of 5.94 meters.
In order to be eligible, a player must have completed at least one academic year, must be a starter or significant reserve, must have a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and must have completed at least one full academic year at his institution. Voting is done by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
