Four WAC Teams Earn Easton/NFCA Team Academic Award, 56 WAC Players Named NFCA Scholar-Athletes
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the second year in a row, Grand Canyon led all Division I softball teams with a 3.760 team grade-point average in the Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 10 Academic Team rankings for the 2018-19 school year. Utah Valley (3.380), California Baptist (3.230) and NM State (3.122) were also honored as NFCA Academic Teams.
Individually, the WAC had 56 Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athletes among the 1,769 NCAA Division I honorees. Grand Canyon led the way with 20, while Utah Valley and California Baptist had 10 apiece, NM State had nine and Seattle U had seven.
