WAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – Grand Canyon's Kelsey Andrusak and Northern Arizona's Jenny Cheetham have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Nov. 4-11.
 
Andrusak, a freshman from Victoria, B.C., led the Lopes to four wins over the weekend as she collected four individual first-place finishes. The Canadian collected full points for GCU in the 200 butterfly (2:03.82), 1000 freestyle (10:27.83), 400 individual medley (4:31.21) and 500 freestyle (5:05.92). All four times also ranked in the top-12 times among the conference this season with her 200 butterfly being third fastest and her 400 IM time fourth fastest. 
 
Cheetham, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., managed top finishes in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events this weekend. She collected gold in the 1-meter event and the 3-meter event with scores of 303.60 and 313.05, respectively. This marks the second week in a row that Cheetham took first at both heights.
 
Other swimmer nominees: Idaho's Brianna Lucien took home gold in the 1000 freestyle (10:32.93) and 500 freestyle (5:06.86) as the Vandals took on Grand Canyon, Air Force and Northern Arizona... Maddie Seidl of Northern Arizona snagged first-place finishes in the 100 butterfly (58.31) and 200 butterfly (2:05.76)... NM State's Airam Olivia-Aun collected top-two finishes in both the 50 freestyle (23.88) and 100 freestyle (51.69).
 
Other diver nominees: California Baptist's Kiree Lowe managed a top-10 finish in the platform diving event as she scored a 370.95... Sara Lameiro Castellanos of Grand Canyon collected three second-place finishes as she earned silver for one 1-meter dive and two 3-meter dives over the weekend... Idaho's Heather Carbon landed a first-place finish in the 1-meter event (258.08) and the 3-meter event (237.60).
