WAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – CSU Bakersfield's Autumn D'Arcy and Northern Arizona's Jenny Cheetham have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Nov. 18-24.
 
D'Arcy, a sophomore from Redlands, Calif., posted the nation's fastest 50-yard butterfly time while also earning gold in both the 100 and 200 butterfly. The sophomore collected first in the 50 butterfly (23.78) as the 'Runners competed at the Pepperdine Winter Invite. She also posted NCAA B cut times in the 100 and 200 butterfly with times of 52.50 and 1:59.14, respectively. D'Arcy's times in each of the three events are currently top in the conference. 
 
Cheetham, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., earned gold in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events as NAU hosted the Lumberjack Diving Invite. At the 1-meter height, she posted a prelim score of 329.80 and a finals score of 312.00, giving her first with a 
total score of 641.80. The Phoenix native also notched the top score in the 3-meter event with a total score of 610.15. Cheetham recorded a third top-five finish as she placed fifth in the platform event (220.25). She also now holds the top scores in each event amongst conference divers.
 
Other swimmer nominees: California Baptist's Rebeca Oviedo finished the weekend with top-five individual finishes in the 500 freestyle (4:54.90) and 1650 freestyle (16:57.63) while also leading her team to a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay as the Lancers competed in the Pepperdine Winter Invite... Alyssa Christianson of Grand Canyon posted the second-fastest time in the conference in the 200 breaststroke as she reached the wall in 2:16.00 in the prelims at the Purdue Invitational... Jordan Andrusak of NM State earned two golds over the weekend, including posting a pool record in the 200 breaststroke (2:01.41) as the Aggies battled NAU... Northern Colorado's Maddy Moore helped lead the Bears to a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.31)... Isabella Guadiamos of Seattle U earned a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.11) and a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:25.13).
 
Other diver nominees: Grand Canyon's Sara Lameiro Castellanos nabbed three top-five finishes as she finished third in the 3-meter event (297.95), fifth in the 1-meter event (299.20) and fifth in the platform event (239.45)... Celeste Llona of Northern Colorado posted a 14th-place finish in the 1-meter diving event as the Bears competed against top competition at Houston's Phill Hansel Invite.
