MEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: NOV. 18-24
Wyoming's Brayden Love and Grand Canyon's Pietro Hufnagel Toscani have been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Nov. 18-24.
 
Love, a junior from Fort Leavenworth, Kan., earned bronze and set a new school record in the 200-meter butterfly as he posted the nation's 16th-fastest time (1:44.41). His times in the 200 butterfly and 100 butterfly (47.20) also set NCAA B cut times. He also posted the conference's third-fastest time in the 200 individual medley (1:48.85) as the Cowboys competed against swimmers from the likes of Missouri, Brigham Young, Drury, Oklahoma Baptist and others at the Missouri Invite.
 
Toscani, a senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil posted three top dives over the weekend as the Lopes competed against divers from Louisville, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Navy and McKendree. The senior earned gold in the 1-meter event with a score of 363.30. He also notched the top score at the 3-meter height with a score of 391.95. Toscani completed the sweep as he picked up another first-place finish in the platform event with a score of 293.05. All three dives mark the conference's best scores thus far in the season.
 
WOMEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: NOV. 18-24
CSU Bakersfield's Autumn D'Arcy and Northern Arizona's Jenny Cheetham have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Nov. 18-24.
 
D'Arcy, a sophomore from Redlands, Calif., posted the nation's fastest 50-yard butterfly time while also earning gold in both the 100 and 200 butterfly. The sophomore collected first in the 50 butterfly (23.78) as the 'Runners competed at the Pepperdine Winter Invite. She also posted NCAA B cut times in the 100 and 200 butterfly with times of 52.50 and 1:59.14, respectively. D'Arcy's times in each of the three events are currently top in the conference. 
 
Cheetham, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., earned gold in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events as NAU hosted the Lumberjack Diving Invite. At the 1-meter height, she posted a prelim score of 329.80 and a finals score of 312.00, giving her first with a 
total score of 641.80. The Phoenix native also notched the top score in the 3-meter event with a total score of 610.15. Cheetham recorded a third top-five finish as she placed fifth in the platform event (220.25). She also now holds the top scores in each event amongst conference divers.
 
OTHER ATHLETES OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Other men's swimmer nominees: Air Force's Zach Nelson posted conference-best times in three events, including setting NCAA B cut times in the 100 breaststroke (53.82) and 200 breaststroke (1:57.80). Nelson's time in the 100 breaststroke also set a 2020 Olympic Trials Qualifying time... Jacob Leahy of California Baptist notched the nation's fifth-fastest time in the 50-yard backstroke while also earning three first-place finishes, three second-place finishes and two third-place finishes as the Lancers competed at the Pepperdine Winter Invite... CSU Bakersfield's Ryan Brimer posted a fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:38.39)... Mazen Shoukri of Grand Canyon finished the weekend with the conference's fastest time in the 100 freestyle (43.41) while also notching the conference's third-fastest time in the 100 butterfly (47.59)... UNLV's Ogi Maric helped lead the Roadrunners to first-place finishes in the 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 800 freestyle relays.
 
Other men's diver nominees: Brendan Byrnes of Wyoming recorded top-seven finishes in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events as the Cowboys competed in the Missouri Invite.
 
Other women's swimmer nominees: California Baptist's Rebeca Oviedo finished the weekend with top-five individual finishes in the 500 freestyle (4:54.90) and 1650 freestyle (16:57.63) while also leading her team to a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay as the Lancers competed in the Pepperdine Winter Invite... Alyssa Christianson of Grand Canyon posted the second-fastest time in the conference in the 200 breaststroke as she reached the wall in 2:16.00 in the prelims at the Purdue Invitational... Jordan Andrusak of NM State earned two golds over the weekend, including posting a pool record in the 200 breaststroke (2:01.41) as the Aggies battled NAU... Northern Colorado's Maddy Moore helped lead the Bears to a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.31)... Isabella Guadiamos of Seattle U earned a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.11) and a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:25.13).
 
Other women's diver nominees: Grand Canyon's Sara Lameiro Castellanos nabbed three top-five finishes as she finished third in the 3-meter event (297.95), fifth in the 1-meter event (299.20) and fifth in the platform event (239.45)... Celeste Llona of Northern Colorado posted a 14th-place finish in the 1-meter diving event as the Bears competed against top competition at Houston's Phill Hansel Invite.
 
AIR FORCE
The Air Force men competed at the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, Texas last week. After three days of competition, the Falcons finished with 487 points, good for fifth place. Corey Shephard finished the 50 freestlye in 32.09 seconds, good for a 2020 Olympic Trials qualifying time. Zach Nelson, Isaac Gwin and Cole McAnany also qualified for the 2020 Olypmic Trials.
 
CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
The California Baptist men traveled to Los Angeles to compete in the Pepperdine Winter Invite. The meet was highlighted by a strong performance from Jacob Leahy as he earned three first-place finishes. The Lancer women also competed at the Pepperdine Winter Invite where they got off to a strong start with 13 top-10 swims on the opening day. The Lancers claimed three third-place finishes on the final day of competition.
 
CSU BAKERSFIELD
The CSU Bakersfield men joined the Lancers as they swam in the Pepperdine Winter Invite during the week. The Roadrunners were led by Loren Gillilan and Kris Rogic. Gillilan won the 50 butterfly in a time of 21.79 while Rogic claimed third in the 50 back (25.22).
 
The Roadrunner women also competed in the Pepperdine Winter Invite. Mikayla Popham's third-place finish in the 500 freestyle was good for the second-fastest time in school history as she finished in 4:50.42. She also claimed the second-fastest time in CSUB history in the 50 freestyle as she claimed gold in the event with a time of 23.10. On day two, Autumn D'Arcy would reset her own school record in the 100 butterfly as she touched the wall in 52.50.
 
GRAND CANYON
The Grand Canyon Lopes competed at the Purdue Invitational where the men were able to manage a fourth place finish as they combined for 469 total points. Mazen Shoukri earned a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle as he finished at 43.41. On the women's side, the Lopes claimed fifth with a point total of 276. Freshman diver Sara Lameiro Castellanos highlight the invite with a third-place finish in the 3-meter diving event. Cecelia Mayer led all GCU women's swimmers as she turned out 12 points.
 
IDAHO
The Vandal women competed at the Lumberjack Diving Invite in Flagstaff, Ariz. Heather Carbon turned in the best performance for Idaho as she finished ninth in the 3-meter event.
 
NM STATE
The Aggies swim and dive teams split up as dive headed to Houston for the Phill Hansel Invite and the swim team hosted Northern Arizona. NM State picked received big outings from their swim team as four pool records and one school record were recorded on day one of the meet with the Lumberjacks. The Aggies finished the weekend with a convincing victory over NAU, winning 180-133.
 
NORTHERN ARIZONA
The Lumberjack women's swim team traveled to Las Cruces to take on NM State where they fell to the Aggies 180-133 while the dive team hosted the Lumberjack Diving Invite. Astrid Villeda and Alice Hick performed well in the 500 freestyle event, finishing in 5:04.87 and 5:05.66, respectively. The divers were led by Jenny Cheetham as she placed first in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Cheetham combined for a score of 641.80 on the 1-meter board and a score of 610.15 on the 3-meter board.
 
NORTHERN COLORADO
The UNC Bears joined NM State at the Phill Hansel Invite hosted by Houston. The bears finished in 10th place as they managed 403 total points. The Bears were led by their 200 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relay teams as each group qualified for the CSCAA National Invitational Championship. 
 
Sophomore diver Celeste Llona turned in the best performance for the Northern Colorado divers. Llona finished 14th in the 1-meter event and 19th in the 3-meter event.
 
SEATTLE U
The Seattle U women defeated Puget Sound for the team's sixth win of the season. The Redhawks finished the weekend with 142 total points, well ahead of the Loggers 118 points. The Redhawks went 1-2-3 in both the 1000 freestyle and 100 breaststroke led by Bryn Lasher and Isabella Guadiamos.
 
UNLV
The Rebel men traveled to Evanston, Ill., to take part in the TYR Invitational hosted by Northwestern. The team competed against Northwestern, Toledo, Saint Louis and Simon Fraser. UNLV was led by Panos Bolanos as he set a new school record in the 200 backstroke. The 400 relay team of Christopher Mykkanen, Sean Gage, Bolanos and Ivan Zukov impressed with a third-place finish. 
 
WYOMING
The Wyoming Cowboys competed in the Mizzou invite on the campus of Missouri where they finished 4th with 495 total points. Junior Brayden Love managed one of the top performances of the year as he broke the school record in the 200 butterfly. His time of 1:44.41 was good for 16th in the nation thus far. The Cowboys also received some help from Ryan Netzel, as he finished second in the 1650 freestyle.
