AIR FORCE
The Air Force men's diving team headed to Utah to compete in the Utah Diving Invitational. Brett Jenkins tallied the Falcons top 3-meter dive as he finished in seventh place with a score of 276.10. Meanwhile, Jack Zocher turned in the top 1-meter score as he finished with a 265.45, placing him eighth in the final.
CSU BAKERSFIELD
The CSU Bakersfield men's and women's teams traveled to Atlanta to compete in the Toyota U.S. Open Championships during the week. Hosted by Georgia Tech, CSUB was able to compete against top competition from around the country.
Junior Kris Rogic led the 'Runners as he was able to notch an 18th place finish in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall at 56.23 seconds. Ryan Brimer recorded a Olympic Trials qualifying time as he finished the 100 freestyle at 52.51.
The Roadrunner women joined the men in Atlanta and were led by a strong performance from Mikayla Popham. Popham competed in three consecutive A-flight events on day one as she swam in the 400 freestyle (4:28.05), the 200 individual medley (2:24.66) and 50 freestyle (26.60). Later that day, Autumn D'Arcy bested Popham's 200 IM time by less than a second as she finished at 2:25.58.
GRAND CANYON
The GCU men's team competed alongside CSU Bakersfield at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships in Atlanta. Florent Janin led the way for the Lopes as he finished 34th in the 100 freestyle (50.44) and also tied for 50th in the 50 freestyle (23.24). Teammate Mazen Shoukry finished only five-tenths of a second behind Janin, placing him in 56th among the field of 165 swimmers. Griffin McKean also turned in an impressive performance as he placed 47th in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.32) and 60th in the 200 individual medley (2:07.56).
IDAHO
The Vandal women competed at the Husky Invitational hosted by Washington in Federal Way, Wash. The 400 medley relay team of Katie Hale, Aimee Iwamoto, Rylie Jones and Natalie Crocker led the charge as they took first with a time of 3:46.44. The same squad also took first in the 200 medley relay on day two of the invite, finishing at 1:44.12. Individually, Brianna Lucien turned in a solid performance as she finished third in the 400 individual medley.
SEATTLE U
The Redhawks men's and women's teams also competed in the Husky Invite. The men opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay as the team of Greg Raper, Isaac Parker, Connor Barringer and Tyler Goodspeed finished at 1:24.06. Will Corona earned a spot in the National Invitational Swimming Championship and qualified for the 2020 USA Swimming Futures Championships with his performance in the 200 individual medley, finishing at 1:51.02. On the final day of competition, Jack Neton finished second in the 200 breaststroke as he reached the wall at 2:20.45.
The Redhawk women were led by the squad of Alexa Hoeper, Danika Himes, Bryn Lasher and Allison Plamondon with a USA Futures Championship qualifying time in the 400 medley relay (3:52.95). Individually, Lasher posted the second-fastest 100 butterfly time in school history as she clocked in at 55.44 while also earning a spot in the USA Swimming Futures Championships with her time in the long-course meter version of the 100 butterfly (1:03.22). Plamondon also swam a Futures qualifying mark as she posted a time of 52.04 in the 100 freestyle.
