WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Announced

DENVER – UT Rio Grande Valley's Trelynn Tyler has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 9 through Dec. 15.

Tyler, a junior guard from Omaha, Neb., put together a career-game in a tight loss to rival Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The transfer from Tyler JC recorded her first double-double of the season with 19 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. She also added five assists to go with three steals and two blocks in a five-point loss to the Islanders. On the season, she is averaging 16.5 points per game to go with 4.3 rebounds per game.

Other nominees included: CSU Bakersfield's Andie Easley averaged 12.0 points per game as the 'Runners stayed perfect at home with wins over Westcliff and UC Santa Barbara … Chicago State's Kourtney Crane put up a career-high 21 points in a loss at Western Michigan on Saturday … Seattle U's Courtney Murphy scored 21 points in an 89-47 win over Warner Pacific.
