WAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – UNLV's Ogi Maric and Jesse Cawley has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Dec. 16-22.
 
Maric, a freshman from Zagreb, Croatia, swam the conference's fastest 200 freestyle of the year as the Rebels hosted the UNLV Invite. He reached the wall at 1:36.61, coming in nearly two seconds faster than any other WAC swimmer this year. Maric also added a first-place finish in the 100 individual medley (50.06). The freshman also helped lead UNLV to a second-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay (6:41.82) and a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:00.56).
 
Cawley, a junior from Portland, Ore., landed a second-place finish in the 3-meter diving event at the UNLV Invite. Cawley earned a 278.10 to finish just 7.15 points behind the top diver.
 
Other swimmer nominee: Joe Molinari of California Baptist finished the week with four top-three finishes with his best finish coming as he touched second in the 400 individual medley, reaching the wall at 3:55.98.
 
Other diver nominee: California Baptist's Evan Honer finished third in the 3-meter event as the Lancers competed at the UNLV Invite.
