WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Announced
DENVER – Utah Valley's Josie Williams has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 23 through Dec. 29.
Williams, a sophomore center from West Haven, Utah, scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Wolverines to a 99-50 win over Ottawa (Ariz.). She finished the non-conference game shooting 9-for-13 from the field and also brought down six rebounds to go with two assists, two steals and a block. On the season, Williams ranks third in the WAC in field goal percentage at .551 and she is UVU's leader in blocked shots with nine in 12 games played.
Other nominees included: UT Rio Grande Valley's Amara Graham led the team with 17 points in a 79-66 loss at Kansas State.
