DENVER – NM State's Tadhg Campbell and Utah Valley's Kaylee Shimizu have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for the week of March 20 to March 26.

Campbell, a senior from Auckland, New Zealand, was the top WAC golfer at the Big Texan Invitational, firing a 12-under-par 240 to take third individually and lead the Aggies to a second-place team finish. He opened up the competition with a 6-under-par 66 and continued to play exceptional, carding a 5-under-par 67 in round two and a 1-under-par 71 in the final round. His average of 68.0 strokes per round was over six strokes better than his season average of 74.1 heading into the week.

Shimizu, a junior from Wailuku, Hawai'i, had an outstanding return to her home state, recording her first collegiate victory at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Hawai'i. She finished even-par on the week with her best round coming in the second round as she carded a 2-under-par 70. The 216 is the second-best 54-hole score in UVU program history and her first day tally of 2-under-par 142 was the top 36-hole in program history. She finished one stroke ahead of Oklahoma State's Han-Hsuan Yu to earn the individual honors.

Other men's nominees: Seattle U's Gabe Spach led the Redhawks to a fourth-place finish at the Oregon Duck Invitational, shooting a 4-over-par 220 to tie for 16th individually … UT Rio Grande Valley's Alvaro Hernandez led the Vaqueros to a fourth-place finish at the Big Texan Invitational, shooting a 10-under-par 206 to tie for fourth place individually as well.

Other women's nominees: California Baptist's Jocelyn Chee tied for second place at the Red Rocks Invitational, firing an incredible 4-under-par 209 … Grand Canyon's Siripatsorn Patchana earned a top-10 finish with a 4-over-par 220 at the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico … Kansas City's Theresa de Bochdanovits was the top finisher for the Roos at the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational, firing a 10-over-par 226 … NM State's Dominique Galloway led the Aggies to the team title at the Red Rocks Invitational, shooting a 2-under-par 211 to tie for fifth in the individual standings … Seattle U's Linette Chua led the Redhawks with a 1-over-par 214 to tie for 11th at the Red Rocks Invitational.
